Guys, I wanted to find some decal sets of the actual aircraft that I worked on (Sheppard AFB and Dyess AFB). The local hobby shop I deal with couldn’t find any and suggested doing some dry transfers, but that leaves out the striping on the upper tail surface. Also, does anyone know where I can find some detailed or closeup pics of landing gear and wheel wells? Ive done multiple searches on the net and get “no search results found” flags. Ive tried to go off of memory, but its been a long time.
It would be helpful if you were a little more specific in your request. What scale, for instance? Which aircraft did you work on? If you were at Dyess, I’d take a guess that you worked on C-130’s or B-1s. Which markings were you looking for, because its possible you can get those markings if you combine decals from different sheets, or that sheet might be out of production, & will have to post your needs in the classified forums on some other aircraft modeling forums (ARC, for instance). B-1 decals will be generally easier to get than C-130 decals.
Again, what type of aircraft are you looking for? http://www.primeportal.net/the_airstrip.htm is a good starting point. Another is http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ Click on “Walkarounds” at the top of the page. Join ARC’s forum & post this question in the “Real Aviation” or “Jet Modeling” section. There are many, many modern jet people over there who can even share their own photos with you, like I would.

Chris, I generally need C130, KC135, B52 and T38 Markings in 1/72 and 1/48. Not all of the aircraft I model were from my bases, as I do have other interests. Thanks for the reply. Im going to visit those sites now. Thanks again!
