Modern French tail markings-Mirage 2000C--asymmetrical?

Any Mirage experts out there?

I’m working on the Heller 1/48 Mirage 2000C kit. I picked up some Berna decals for it, but depending on the squadron you choose to do, the sheet seems to have asymmetrical art for each side of the fin. That is, a different emblem on each side. From research I’ve done on airliners.net, the “flying goose” emblem seems to occupy both side of the tail fin, but in my decals there is only one.

So can anyone give me the lowdown on French tail markings and whether asymmetrical markings are normal?

While I was working on a NATO base in the sandbox, there were Mirages there. Most that I saw had the same markings on both sides of the tail. However, you can see in the pics below, that there were times that the tail markings were not the same on both sides.

Look at the tail of the aircraft in the center of this photo, with what looks to be a goose in a red oval:

This photo is the other side of the center aircraft above. Notice the tail badge is different.

The other two aircraft in the first photo had identical markings on both sides of the tail.
