Modern French Camouflage

I have just finished building Heller’s 1/72 Scale AMX 30 Tank. Yes, the rubber band tracks suck, but the rest of the kit is okay. I was wondering if anyone could show a picture of, or refer me to a sight that shows the camouflage pattern that the French used on this tank.

Thanks in advance. I’ll get pictures up as soon as it is done. [8D]

See if these help:

I shot with a platoon of AMX 30’s at Graf in the late 70’s. They were overall dark green. I don’t recall what unit they were. DJ is right though, Piwi would probably be the best bet.

Cool, thanks guys! I’ll see if I can get ahold of him.

LMAO at mzzleflash’s comment! I might have to put that on it!

I finished it along with 2 other model tanks and an aircraft model, and I am almost done with a space shuttle that I’m building for someone.

Don’t forget to post pics of all those models!

ouch!.. LOL…[}:)]
may i suggest lit gauloise cigarette and espresso cup as unit insignia ?[:p]

Hi all,

I’m sad to read frostygirl and muzzleflash88’s posts.
I come here to talk about model and nothing else, I live all my hurting opinion out of here. Disturbing !!!

OK Frsotygirl,

Don’t worry about that !

Hey Duke Maddog, What’s your mail adress?
Drop me a mail if you want these pics

You can E-mail me at:

Thanks! Put in the Subject Line: “IPMS French tanks” so that my wife doesn’t delete it as spam!

Thanks again piwi! I personally am glad that I am finally able to build up my French Army for once! French equipment is so hard to find in 1/72 scale!

Also, I have a Panther that I painted in French colors. I’d like to see what kind of unit insignia and other markings were put on them post-war. Perhaps you can send pictures of them as well.

And to everyone else, I’ll crank up the old Digital camera and see if I can get a few shots done and posted sometime this week.

Duke,

Here’s a site that’s full of info about French armour. Look into 1939-45 and at the bottom of that page you’ll find some pics of French Panthers.

Pierre,

I’m 100% with you on this! So silly!

short version: sorry to have caused a disturbance…my apologies…

Thanbks for the new info about French Panthers! I’m sorry about not posting often, but I started a new job a couple weeks ago. Its seasonal construction work, building haunted mazes for a local Amusement Park that will open for the month of October. Sometimes I’m just so tired after work I find myself asleep at the workbench! I’ll try to get some pics posted. I need to find a site that I can use to host, but it has to be big, because I have almost 65 photos to post. If anyone knows how to get my Yahoo Briefcase to allow photos to be seen when posted, I’d appreciate it. I’ve tried posting photos that are in my Yahoo briefcase/photo album, but they always turn up as red X’s.

Anyway, thanks again for everyone’s help! I just recently won two more awards at my local I.P.M.S meeting; one for my Russian T-55 in 1/72 scale, and the other for my 1/72 scale Russian MiG 21 MF. I’ll have photos of them next month for you.

Congrats for your prizes. Glad you liked the info on the French Panthers. For your pics, try Ron’s gallery. The instructions to get in are posted in a ‘Sticky’ note in the General Modeling Discussion. It’s easy!
