Modelling World War II

who’s best manufacturer for models of aircrafts like b-17 or p-47???

I am not sure who makes the best B-17 kit, but Tamiya makes a really nice P-47 Razorback and bubbletop in 1/48 scale.

Thanks for answer. I am just beginner and i am not sure which kit to buy first.

Adam,

First, what scale are you planning to build? For beginner like my self I recommend Academy in 1/72. They are good quality kits and they are cheap so if you mess it it is ok. For 1/48 scale…yes you get better details but like Tamiya it will cost you more money so you may get mad if you mess it up. Anyhow, welcome to hobby and good luck.

Thanks, to this moment i built up Sd.Kfz.186 Jagdtiger in scale 1:35 [:D]. I don’t know how to insert the photo ut i will try.

Adam, if you’re just starting to built models, make your mistakes on cheap kits, get a decent pair of tweezers, and try PVA for the transparencies - I’ve ruined loads with poly cement fingerprints!

If you have a Woolworths nearby, my local branch have just stocked a box containing the 1/72 Airfix Short Stirling (which will have the tractor & bomb trolleys) & the North American B-25 Mitchell, with paints & glue on offer for about £14!

I’m buying paints in Beeties but in woolworths there are no models. The glues and models I’m buying in Poland

in a near hobby shop (I was living in poland for 12 years).[:)]

By the way, do you know how to put photograps in here??

I saw the ‘England’ under your name & assumed that was where you were based - You might find the comparison of manufacturers here

useful.

for photos, you’ll need an online storage place like photobucket or similar.
then use the following [ img] url/ imagename.jpg [ /img] - delete the spaces
