Hi all,
I need a bit of advice. If I was coming to the States, and wanted to attend a modeling show where I could see completed models and if possible (and more importantly), watch models being built where I could learn, which show would you guys on the forum suggest? If it makes any difference, my only interest is armour.
Regards
Dean
Not many shows have actual building going on, but some have seminars during the shows. I would visit the AMPS and the IMPS USA websites to see which shows will be going on where you will be when you will be there.
Dean,
I agree with Rob. It will be difficult to see people build kits at a model show. Depending upon where you are going, you can attend a local club meeting. www.ipmsusa.org has a list of clubs depending on where you are going. Most of these clubs have 1 or 2 meetings a month. If they are like the one I attend in Rochester, we give tips and dicuss the kits that they are working on or have finished. In my opinion, this is where you will learn the most.
Regarding shows…now that is where to buy kits for cheap and see some really high quaility models in the built condition.

go to this site: http://ipmsusa.org/index.htm check under UPCOMING EVENTS. You can check out the contest schedule in the back of Finescale Modelers magazine. This should get you going.
