Just a curious question. What do you listen to for music when you are building?
My choices? Death metal, classical, world, instrumental.
Anything long that doesnt require me to get up and change cd’s for like 6-10 hrs! [}:)]

What they now loosely refer to as “classic rock”, or sometimes classical.
It’s gotta be mellow stuff.
I have a cd player that holds six cd’s in a cd holder. I just grab a cd holder and throw it in. They are a mix of soft rock, country & western and rock & roll classics.
I have put many of my cd’s in my computer which is in my hobby room (go figure ;-)) and when I work on my models I listen a lot of Iron Maiden, ACDC, Metallica, Mozart, and Bethoven
Techno…
it takes the frustration out sometimes…
Just about anything but Country and Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute. Usually, it’s just the sound of my wife talking nonsense or my kids.
Anything but opera. Makes me sleepy
Thank God for mp3s and internet radio. Music depends on whatever mood I’m in, but most of the time i just open iTunes and hit shuffle. I’ve found the more eclectic, the better.
80’s retro all the way. Brings back the glory days before marriage, kids and responsibilty. [}:)]
Goood question!
Depends on what I’m modeling, really. WWII subjects, usually one of my Glenn Miller CDs. Vietnam, its usually the Doors. Modern stuff, metal all the way, usually OLD metallica, Pantera, etc. Good stuff!
And I thought that I was the only 80’s fan out there. At least we’re not alone, Tigerman!
I actually have the t.v. going in the background. It is behind me so i dont get destracted from the flahsy screen. I always have Sportcenter on.
I’m a big 80’s fan. I also enjoy classic rock, country ,
classical and just about everything else except opera.
Listening to some 80’s now. Sure does bring back memories.
Man time flies, it seems just like yesterday that this song came
out .[:(]
MK & Straits, JJ Cale, David Wilcox, SRV, Sue Medley, Jewel, Energy Orchard, The Hip, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman…
The list goes on…
But when I’m not listening to music, it’s OTR baby!!! Jack Benny, Sherlock Holmes, Sam Spade, The Shadow, Suspense, Lux, wartime news…
I wrote an article on this very subject for my club newsletter and also put it on the Articles page of my website.
Fade to Black…
A micro-hifi is part of my workbench, and I’ll listen to just about anything, from jazz to hard rock, except classical, R&B and rap. I go from artists singing in English, French, Spanish, Portugese and Italian to instrumental stuff such as JM Jarre.
AH!!! Rap! The only thing missing from rap is the ‘C’ in front of the ‘R’…
Fade to Black…
LOL Despite the fact that you won’t try 1/144, we do seem to have a few things in common, Blackwolf…
you like music??? check out these guys…a debut album
THE KINGS OF LEON…rock…n … roll… cool stuff…i love music whislt i work …i got about 30gigs of MP3 files on a H/D and when i’m in the workroom i switch on winamp …and can play music non stop for a week and not hear the same track twice
i like most music but i’m afraid i cant appreciate RAP, hip hop, or wobbly lipped coloured chicks, woooo-wooo ooooohhhh yeeeeahhh-ing all over the shop, all the cheesy mass market quick consumption stuff ,makes me wanna grab the rifle and head for a clock tower…
I guess this makes me somewhat of an old phart but I usually listen to “talk radio” rather than music.
If there’s nothing interesting being discussed I will usually switch it over to “the Oldies”
Harry Potter Audio CDS’ performed by Jim Dale. They are entertaining and well written - Makes me feel like a kid again.
