Modeling Marine Corps Aviation since 1914 - Looking for assistance

Gentlemen,

I have compiled a list of all the aircraft flown by the Marine Corps since 1914 (the list can be found at the link below).

However, as I have stated in that post, there may be aircraft I have missed. If you know of any that aren’t on the list, please let me know by posting a response here or by emailing them to me at the following address:

usmcmodels@aol.com

I could also use some assistance in the kit area. If you know of kits for any of the aircraft, regardless of scale or medium, please let me know that as well.

Thank you for your time!

Semper Fidelis,

Dave

I’d offer to help, but you apparently have the same books I do, Dave.

Just as an FYI, I am in the process of putting this list in an Excel document. I will also be updating the list here this weekend.

If anyone wants a copy of the list via Excel, drop me an email to:

usmcmodels@aol.com

The Excel list will be broken down into the following columns:

Aircraft Manufacturer
USMC/USN Aircraft Designation
Civil/USAAF/Other Aircraft Designation
1/144 kit listing
1/72 kit listing
1/48 kit listing
1/32 kit listing
1/35 kit listing
1/24 kit listing
Notes
Links to photo of each aircraft

It will be quite a few days before it’s done, so please be patient.

Dave

I would like a copy and would like to help with the 1/144 area. I’ve got a massive 1/144 listing and a site devoted to it. Just at a glance Entex did a 1/144 Bell UH-1B. Shall I keep looking??

Hey Dave,

For the A-6E Intruder in 1/72 you have the Fujimi kit listed, but Italeri also makes a kit and offers decals in the box for a Marine craft (for VMA (AW)-332)

Brian

Gentlemen,

If you would like a copy of the Excel list, please send me an email to the AOL address provided in my previous posts.

With regard to the kit listing, I have decided to simply list the most accurate kit of each subject. While the Italeri kit is nice, the Fujimi kit is more accurate in overall shape with finer details.

For the 1/144 list, by all means, please provide as much information as you can.

Thank you,

Dave

Dave, have you seen John Elliott’s Marine Corps Aircraft 1913-2000? It’s on the Marine Corps’ New Orders and Directives page.

I had not seen it, thank you! I printed it out and have been updating the list.

Thanks again,

Dave

Dave -

One apparent typo I spotted: You show a Boeing F3B-4, which I think should read F4B-3, used by VB-4M.
