modeling clay

Hi Everyone.

I have just sanded to much the underwing machine gun of my bf-109. I am tring to adhire some clay to the plastic so that it will dry and scapel it afterwards. The problem is that my clay is not sticking to the plastic.

Any ideas what I can do?

Regards Andrew

maybe use CA glue (superglue ?) and same plastic from the sprrue melted in it. It will stick and it will be hard. I used to make this to fill gaps where putty will just crack.CA glueis a pretty good solution for such case.

Following on with this theme: Cut out the area of the gun pod which you’ve oversanded, and superglue a piece of sprue, slightly larger than you need, in place. When this has set hard, carve and sand the sprue to shape, using your other gun pod as a model. Job done!

If the damaged area is only small, you may be able to build it up again, just using supergue and accelerator. be sure to sand the superglue immedialtey after it has set, though - otherwise, it becomes harder to sand than the surrounding plastic.

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks guys for your ideas.

I have wet the clay abit and it sticks much better.
