O.K. folks
I thought this could be interesting to try. I recently was e-mailed a list of lessons learned from the working world by a friend. These lessons were worded like old philosopies, you know, cryptic but truthful.
I thought it would be interesting to try this with our hobby, think what you have learned good and bad from the hobby and try to express it as though you were some old time philosopher passing on wisdom.
Here’s one of mine to start:
Great box art will draw you to the model, but a great model can’t always be drawn from the box.
Who’s next, any takers?
A bit less conversation…a liitle more action…(Elvis rules…)
No matter how many times you reattach an antenna , it will get knocked again.
Art is knowing when to stop.
he who have no patience, will soon learn patience while he waits for glue solvant to set in ( while the glue disolves from his glued fingures.).
When in doubt…paint it flat black
The lost part will be found just as soon as you have scratch built it’s replacement.

“…He who buys model with cash in hand, keep credit in pocket…”
I thought it was " He who buys model with cash in hand, keeps wife knowing nothing"
LOL that was a great one!![bow]
I’ve found that the aircraft mechanics third rule applies to modeling as well:
When all else fails, read the instructions!

Looks like some good ones so far.
You can attract more super glue with styrene and skin than with styrene alone
The #11 blade is a stealthy and cunning workbench predator. Watch your fingers.
The paint rack at the local hobby shop is huge, but its mostly different grays. If you are a modeler of modern military aircraft, its still a rainbow.
Patience is a virtue but buy that kit now for tomorrow it is OOP.
