Just been building the Modelcraft M8A1 Cargo Tractor, replaced wheels and tracks with AFV Club Items, and .50 Cal, really enjoyed buliding a blast from the past!! but I can’t find any reference photos anywhere, does anyone know of any so I can now finish this kit?[:)]
Hi barrovian
I have been looking for the rear ideler wheels from the M8A1 for along time, If you are not using them I’m very interested in them for a project that I’m working on.
Thank you
Ralph
Hi Ralph
I have got the full set of un-used wheels from the M8A1 kit, where do You live? I am in the the UK, I am sure we can sort something out.
Gary
Hi Gary
Contact me at
Gary, do you think you can provide some detail as to the AFV parts you used. I have the kit, but have not started it yet, as some of the parts in the box are just horrendous.
As to the reference pics, I haven’t found much on the web and there seems to be nothing good in terms of available books.
I used the AFV club M41 wheels and suspension set (3545) and two wheels from a smashed M4, and 2 sets of AFV club M41 workable track set, the M8A1 uses the same wheels and tracks as the M41 but is longer by one road wheel, hence 2 track sets and spare wheels. I scratch built the hydraulic lift system, replace the grills at the front with etched brass and my smashed M41 donated the pioneer tools and .50 Cal.
Thanks for the info. Just when I thought I’d be able to save a little money and not buy kits… [:)]
