Model Master Metallisers

Ok, I’m planning to use MM paints for the first time, and lucky me it’s for an NMF finish.
So I need some info from those that have used them before.

These metallic paints, are they enamel or laquer based?
What is the best stuff to clean out the airbrush afterwards?

MM list a sealer for their metallics, is this really neccesary, or is it because they MM metallics are fragile.

The colour I’m going to use is the Aluminium plate Buffer.

Do I need any specific primer before I apply the metallic, or can it go straight onto plastic.?

Any other info you guys can think of for the MM paints would be appreciated, like I said, first time with MM Metallics. I’ve used the Alclad stuff alot, and I’d like to try something different for the hell of it.

Thanks in advance.

tweety, mm metalizers are very delicate friend. if you have to do any painted areas, paint them first and maske them off and then apply the metalizer. the metalizer should be the last thing you apply in other words. i sealed mine with mm metalizer sealer but it still came off in some areas when i tried to mask it for panel shading. it is lacquer based and you can spray lacquer thinner through and clean you airbrush. i recommend alclad II if its available and you have the budget for it. later.

Yeah Alclad is way better. I used both on my now flown away monogram B-17 and the alclad was about 100X better.
