Has anybody worked with this stuff? MM Acryl Clear Flat? I found a bottle in my tray from a long time ago, never opened. Tonite I ran out of my usual rattle can MM enamel flat coat and I’m desperate. Is the Acryl flat coat any good? Anyone tried it?
I just recently used it a bit. I liked it, and I’ll probably make it my regular flat sealer for airbrush use. I thinned it a bit with the Acryl Thinner and I thought it worked a little better than straight
from the bottle.
I will say that I didn’t use it to get to a dead flat flinish. I’ll try this next time I use it and see how it does.
I agree. I like the clear flat, but it does not produce a ultra matte coat, it has just a little sheen. I haven’t used Polly Scale’s clear flat, but I hear it is supposed to be very flat. Anybody have any experience with PS flat?
I have, Aaron, and I’m sure I won’t be the only one here to sing its praises. It gives me the deadest flat of any product I’ve tried, and without the whitish hazing that can occur with excessive coats of other ones I’ve used, because so little of it is needed to achieve optimum results. I thin it with anywhere from 15% - 20% distilled water.
Thanks Mike. I’ll be trying it next time I have something to finish. Figured it was good. I’ve had nice results with the other Polly Scale paints I’ve used.
IMHO, yes. I exclusively use Pollyscale flat now. I never really liked how MM flat turned out, much too “whitish” and with a slight sheen to it. PS flat is dead flat and clear. Great stuff.
