This 48 Mk IV Beaufighter was modified from the Tamiya Mk VI kit, it’s now finally completed. All the paint is Humbrol enamels, using #11 silver and #132 as the red oxide primer, the pix show the detail that was put into this model, landing and IFF lights are from artificial jewelery, the mirror is a scrap of Evergreen and the gun sight is mounted in the travelling position, centre of the starboard windsreen frame, the exhaust collector ring braces are made from copper wire by drilling our the inside of the main ring and using CA glue to fix them.
Beeeeautiful! The weathering is fantastic! I have an arfix 1:72 Beaufighter TF.X I’ll be starting shortly, I hope it’ll be even half as good! Thanks for the look Rob. [tup]
Thanks to all for the kind words on this build, this model was entered in the modified large scale at the recent Melbourne Model Expo over June 11 - 13, never judged as an enterant of the class, but wins [to my suprize] a ‘Best of Show’ for an RAAF bird.
