Excellent idea! I will watch your build as I plan to build the 1/72 Trumpeter F-100C. I have built a lot of Trumpeter kits, mostly their F9F-2 Panthers and 1/350th ships. They are buildable but need a little TLC.
Back to the build. I started masking the top. Hopefully I can spray the bottom light gray tonight or tomorrow sometime.
Don’t know when I will get to it, Though; I’m trying to Finish A Star Trek Project right now.
Re your F-100 build. Looking good. As it happens my current build is an F-100D, Italeri kit. That’s useful info about the tail skid, I know how it goes now!
The hardest part I’ve found is trying to paint the burn marks on the rear of the fuselage to look realistic!
I made a template from post it note paper, one for right and one for left side. I will tape them to the rear fuselage after the camo colors are done and spray them aluminum.
The bottom is gray. Now to paint the wheel wells green then flip it and mask for the tan and green top side camo colors.
Here is the ESCI kit with the “floor” built in for the tail skid. Also here is the ESCI canopy. Does the Italeri F-100D still have the extra rib in the clear canopy? I dropped the slats on the ESCI kit.
Bottom masked and top painted tan, it also serves as a primer. Light and dark green top colors next.
