Hey all,
II purchased a Fine Molds X-Wing some time ago and have finally gotten around to starting it. Two problems have emerged.
First, the kit is missing the upper panel behind the cockpit where R2-D2 would go along with all the nifty grill type work. Anybody know if they supply replacements?
Second, not so serious, but does anybody know if it is possible to get the instructions in English. they look to be awesome instructions, however it is all in Japanese/Chinese. Would love to get my hands on an English version.
Thanks,
Jake
Rob,
Thanks for the website. It was just what I needed.

Would not expect to get a replacement part as Fine Molds is not allowed to make the Star Wars kits any longer. If Revell re-pops the 72nd x-wing you might get a replacement from them.

And it’s entirely possible that the RG license to use the old Fine Molds stuff may not allow sales outside of Europe, like they couldn’t sell their recent Trek kits here in the US. Sure, some will dribble over unofficially like all things do, but they probably won’t offer any customer support outside their sales territory, either.
In light of Stephen’s and MJames’ posts, I think your best bet is going to be to scratchbuild the missing detail. If you’ve never tried it before, it’s a good exercise. If you have, it’s still a good exercise.
Thanks for all of the information.
I came to the same conclusion as well about scratch building the top gadgetry.
Thanks for the help.
