missing part

hello all,i’m currently building the revell-germany 1/72nd scale B-1B (kit #04307) for a good friend i work with. my part that has seemed to disappear into the ether is part #70,the canopy. my instructions for getting a replacement part read like a road map for a roundabout and seem to indicate that we here in the USA can’t directly contact the manufacturer for a replacement.i do have an old MPC canopy that requires some unfamiliar scratchbuilding(for my skills anyway)to make fit. can anyone in this community help me out? i have not figured out the private message part of this new format yet so all contacts will be here for the world and moderators to see.thank you in advance to all who take the time to read and or help me out in this predicement. P.S. my responses may be slow as i don’t browse the computer everyday so patience is requested and appreciated. thanks folks.

For Revell Germany replacement parts, this’s from the Revell Website:

Keep this part of Revell’s replacement parts policy in mind while you ponder your course of action though:

Also, Revell Germany and Revell/Monogram are two different companies now, so you may be SOL…

As for modifying the fit of the MPC canopy, I’d need to see it on the Revell fuselage to get an idea of which direction you need to go…

My personal experience with RoG was from a missing engine cowl from their F4U-5 kit… After all was said and done and to make a long story short, I bought a second kit and cast a resin copy of the missing cowl… It was quicker and cheaper…

[dto:] i ended up doing the same thing it was best way to go an i got anotherr kit to build.

I lost a couple parts for my revell B-17 but with a little searching of the website you will find where to order parts. I wasn’t even sure the website accepted my order but to my surprise the parts showed up just a few days later free of charge.

I would hit the website again and find the missing parts request if you can’t find it on the forum.

Good luck. I am building RoG F-15E. The decals are missing. From what Revell in the US said, they have to contact RoG, then RoG has to send the missing item back to Revell USA, who then sends it to the consumer. Wait time, approx. 12 weeks.

I’ve been in need of replacement parts from RoG twice. Last time was for the cannon on my U99 boat, lost it to the carpet monster. It took about 8 weeks to get my 1st part and for the cannon around 6 weeks. If you need to finish your model now, then scratch build it; otherwise, put it on hold and start a new project -that’s what I did-. I know, it sucks.

thanks HVH for the web sites, i’ll be checking them out shortly, thank you everybody else for the advice i’m not in a huge hurry to finish the kit and the friend knows i’m a slow builder(also he doesn’t have to pay for it it’ just a gift) so all options are on the table. thanks again folks and we’ll see ya on the forums.

Hi, Armornut! How is the B-1 build coming along?

well for all those who have been waiting on pins and needles for an update on the B-one, MISSING PART FOUND it was literally right next to the box on the floor, figures it would be in the last place i would look.thanks for all your support ,now we can all go back to our lives and models LOL this just seemed loke a fun way to update/ close out a thread. c-ya’ll on the forums.
