Hello Blake,
I think it’s the 1/48th scale kit (ex ESCI modified into F1CT/CR).
If it is, yes, the kit is good enough to render a good Mirage F1. There are no important inaccuracies and the rendering is good. A clue : I’ve been working among Mirage F1s and when I look at the kit (I’ve built a Mirage F1C-200 of E.C.2/12 Picardie, No257, coded 12-KO) I “see” the plane as it was on the parkings of the air base…
Personnally, I’ve lengthened the nose by 3 mm, because the original kit is a standard F1 without the refuelling probe… and neither Italeri nor ESCI had made the modification for the F1C-200 series…
It’s not a difficult task but you must have good detail picture to achieve correctely the work. I can’t send pictures because I have no scanner… Sorry.

Hello Hoffy,
Here are two pictures of the 1/48th scale ESCI/Italeri Mirage F1, modified into a MF1C-200 series.
I made them 15 min ago… The weather is not very fine !!!
As you can see, the rendering is good.

hey Jicehem
thanks for the photos, they look really nice, i’d be happy if mine turned out to be half as good as that.

I’ve forgotten to tell you the ejector seat on MF1CR/CT is not the same as on F1/F1C-200 and depends also of the era. Until the '90s, the ejector seat was Martin-Baker F1RM4 (or Mk 4) with ejection handles over the pilot’s head (to be seen on my kit (F1C No 257)). From the beginning of the '90s onwards the model is Martin-Baker Mk 10 (zero-zero ejection) with lower ejection handles.
If you need more information, email me diectly.

Thanks also, I’ve always wanted to do a kit of the Qatari F.1EDA’s that I worked around/with back in the Gulf in 90-91.
