I just last Friday went to Bandimer Speedway for the Mile High Nationals. When the top fule dragsters came on and gave of that sonic boom[:0], I was impressed and wanted to do a Diorama of them getting ready anyways, I need to know how to weather an engin on a drag racer. Sadly I just recently became interested in cars. actually about a week ago[:)] so I dont know anything about them. Please help!!!

Airbrush, I don’t know how much help this will be but, drag race engines (esp those on Top Fuel and Funny Cars are tore down and rebuilt after EACH run. so effectively they have a new engine for each run.
You might try shading the recesses darker. My last auto project (a Monkee-mobile for the wife) I let the blue for the block do that and I thought it looked pretty good, but you’ll have to experiment a bit.[:p]
One thing you should do for more realism is to strip off the chrome on any plated engine parts and paint them with different shades of Metalizer. There is very little (if any) chrome on the 1:1 engines. If the part is shiny, it’s polished metal; use buffing Metalizer for those pieces.
Also, go to your local newsstand and check out the drag racing magazines. You should be able to find some good engine pics that will help w/ the painting, detailing, etc.
