Mildly Ticked

Dear FSM,

Well, after living with late subscription issues for nearly a year, I took the advice of administrators here and changed my subscription to First Class delivery. Theoretically, this should have resulted in delivery times to my home comparable to the dates when stores receive their issues…NOT.

My wonderful, $2.00 more per issue, First Class shipped issue of the October FSM just arrived this morning! This is nearly two full weeks since it was available at the local hobby shop and three days LATER than my Second Class magazine last month!

Not exactly the best service, FSM!

Hey, at least you got yours. I’m still waiting for mine.

Are you sure you gave them your address and not mine?[;)] My issue was in my mail box when I got off of vacation a full two weeks early. Could be they delivered your issue to me in Panama City. I got two issues less than three weeks apart. A first for me. My next one will most likely be a month late.

Well…Editorial really doesn’t have anything to do with the mailing and distribution end of things, so I’m hardly an expert on this subject. Maybe Hurricane Frances had some impact on delaying the mail, though if Berny got his, that theory may not (pardon the pun) hold water. The magazines were all certainly mailed at the same time. If it happens again, you may give the Customer Service folks a jingle and see if they can offer any more info.

Lawrence,

I called Customer Service on 1 September and talked to Patrick. He could not even tell me if my original magazine had even been mailed at the upgraded First Class rate. Thankfully, he submitted a new send request and my magazine arrived in 6 days. Kudos to Patrick!

However, based on this information, if my original magazine was mailed First Class on the same day the Second Class bulk mailing were made, I should have received my copy on (or about) the 19th of August.

We’ll just have to see if next month is any better.
