I recently completed two models displayed in-flight while performing some type of in-flight action such as refueling or dropping bombs.

I started to wonder what they would look like in their natural environment. I was able to find two fellow modelers willing to help me out. These two modelers have been very gracious with their time and superb Photo work talent to put my models into their natural surrounding. I’m truly grateful for their work, effort, and hours of time devoted to this project.

I provided them with images of my models photographed outdoors under full sunlight. I was also able to provide them with a few background images provided to me from friends. With both these images in hand they were able to work their magic.

I would like to share the results of their hard work.

Wow - very impressive. Of course the thing that makes it work is the excellent work on the models. Terrific job on the weathering: subtle and effective but not overdone.

Those pics are amazing. Looks so real. The 2 looking down from the boom operator brought back memories of my Jr. year in High school,for AFJROTC. We took off from Mcguire AFB.in a KC-135 and refueled a KC-10 out over the Atlantic ocean. It was my first time in an airplane. We got to go down and lay down next to the boom operator. That had to be one of my coolest class trips…

Its amazing what we can do with technology today and this is a fine example.

Its also nice to have friends to help do this.

Holy Molythey are seriously awesome photos! You fellow modelers who put them together and you as the builder have some wonderful talent. There are a couple of photos in there that one definitely has to look twice to pick them as a model.

I didn’t read your post and went right to the pictures and thought they were references for the models you were showing. Both ends of the photography work mesh so well. That is an incredible display of your obvious talents. Well, I guess I’ll go back to my toys. Rick
