I’m considering trying some MIG weathering products such as filters, washes , etc… I am assuming from reading the info on their website that they are enamel based. To those that have used them: is it best to use acrylic paint for the base coat? Should I put some sort of barrier between the base coat and the weathering materials? Thanks in advance.
I have not used MiG but have used AK, basically the same. If you use Acrylic paint, the MiG products can be used straight onto those. If you use enamel’s, you will need a protective coat, such as future or a clear Acrylic, on top of the paint. But be sure to make sure the protective coat is fully applied, I add two coats to be safe.
i use mig pigments often . and i tryed to use filters and washes but i don’t like it. filter can remove basic paint (for ex tamiya paint). and washes - you can do washes from water+ajax+oil paint. i like it more then mig’s washes
