Mig Eurpean pigment,or dust spray ?

To acheive the look of road dust [ Normandy - Paris area ],What should be applied first,The MIG pigments on the lower part of the vehicles,Or a light & thinned oversray of thinned Floquill dust or Tamiya buff ? Or should I just use one & not the other [ pigment/ dust spray ] Thanks, keith

Sprayed stuff, THEN pigments. If you spray over pigments, there’s a good chance you’ll blow 'em off, or that they’ll do weird things you don’t want.

Did the Tamiya Buff/then pigments thing on a Sherman recently.

DoogsATX,that second photo is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank You so much, though I should have have thought of it.But, I usually affix the pigments w/Acryl. thinner.Still, I love your results.Was That Sherman “Destined for France” ? again,thanks, keith

I’ve just started affixing pigments with thinner (I’ve been using Mona Lisa Odorless Thinner), beginning with my 109 WIP…

…but I’m still hesitant about putting anything on top of them. Guess I’ll need to give it a shot one of these days, but to my mind putting paint over pigments seems to go against the point of pigments in the first place.

Thanks re: the Sherman. I’ve actually envisioned this one rumbling across Sicily…but I’ve got a France-bound Shermie in the form of Tasca’s M4A1 Late Production w/ hedgerow cutters in the stash. Think I’m going to have to dio that one up for sure!

I I have read the rave reviews of “Tasca’s” new releases of Shermans,& saw the recent one of the Normandy “Cullin rhino”. While all review’s of Tasca’s differant Shermie releases have been great [ & I’m sure I’ll pick 1 up ],Didn’t you think the “Cullin” version differant from the pix I’ve seen of his original design,which looked like just I-Beams ? Of course. we weren’t there.[ thank God ]. Thanks again, keith

From what I’ve seen, there were countless varieties of hedgerow cutters…mainly since they were fabbed up by crews on the spot. The Tasca kit actually provides for a few different varieties, but they’re all of a kind similar to this:
