Take a look at this cockpit and tell me what you guys would do to help it. These parts were actually painted almost 10 years ago. I didn’t have the exprience I do now…not that I have that much more now anyway. ![]()

The basing looks pretty good. I would run a good drybrush over all of the surfaces with a bit of silver, just to highlight the controls. I would also use a little bit darker base, such as a charcoal grey, for the panel trim.

Heh…demon, talk to me like a newbie and explain that to me again…especially the silver dry brushing. There’s alot of techniques like that I have never done.
Dana
Drybrushing is fairly simple in concept, but takes a bit to get used to. Get a bit of paint on your brush, then wipe off the paint against a foam pad or piece of tissue, leaving just the “residue” of the paint behind. Basically, you’re drying off the brush without removing the paint. The bristles should have no sheen to them, but should still be silver. Then, brush very lightly across the raised surfaces of the cockpit controls. This will leave a small amount of paint behind on just the raised surfaces. I would recommend practicing before trying it, as if done wrong, your entire control surface will be silver. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the reply Demono69. I did just that and here it is. I didn’t spend much time with it…but I may play with it some more. Didn’t turn out too bad I guess. [:I]

Can you suggest anything else? [:D]
Very, very nice, Dana. I applaud you.
I haven’t really done anything with my Academy Mig-29UB, so I can’t really suggest anything else right now. I will do some research, though.
The Force is strong with this one…
Thanks, Demono. For future reference, check out the “Wheel well color” post I just started. The link in that post is a Mig-29 walkaround page. Might wanna hang on to that link for your Academy kit. Thanks again.

Much appreciated. Will do. Good luck on the rest of the build!
