MIG-21MF Fishbed J (pics)

Hello All…I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day. I’m actually thanking myself today for finally finishing this model. It’s always a pleasure to get one done aint it. This is a 1/48 Academy MIG that was a gift from my granddaughter so I guess I’d better give it to her…that was the plan anyway. Building was OOB except for a few things in cockpit but they can’t really be seen that well. No real problems except for a little silvering no matter how much solvent I used. It had three decal scemes and I decided to go with the Indian Air Force which is actually the MIG-21M

Nice model. Every time I see one of these I’m reminded of that old movie “Steal the Sky” the docudrama about agents stealing a MiG 21 for analysis. It’s a great movie if you can find it, watch it.

Here’s the bottom which I misstyped earlier.

I’ll look for that one, Swanny…sounds interesting…anything with aircraft is always good stuff as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the info.

Nice work on the MIG Tommy. Looks good.

Regards, Rick

Now that’s a nice build! Since visiting the Air and Space museum during the summer, I’ve got a Mig-21 build (in NMF) planned somewhere in the distant future. Yours came out nice. I like the subtle panel highlighting.
