Does anyone know the difference between the aluminum and aluminum plate colors (other than the fact one is buffing and the other isn’t) in final finish? I’m trying to decide which to use for my purpose before heading to the hobby store.
Also, it’s been a long time since I used them and have forgottn if they need to be thinned out of the bottle. I’ve used some before but can’t seem to find any thinner in my paint collection.
Thanks.
The non-buffing will give you a duller finish. The plate can be buffed to a high sheen. They are formulated to be airbrushed w/o thinning. If you desire to thin them, I have used lacquer thinner. I didn’t try it w/ MM thinner, so I don’t know if that will work. Just remember to seal it-it will dull the "metal"effect a little, but that’s better than the paint wearing off or discoloring ! Sealing also improves decal adhesion, as some decals simply won’t “stick” to unsealed metalizer. Hope this helps !
