Gents,
I’m a new member from Spain. It’s a pleasure to be writing to you!
Now, I want to build an RC 1/16 Tamiya Tiger and I have three questions to begin with. First, are there several makes of metal tracks for this kit? If so which is the best one? and, I’ve heard that using these metal tracks will soon damge the gear box which won’t be able to cope with the extra weight added; is this true? Are metal tracks adviceable in the first place?
Thanks for your time!
Alvaro.
First off, Alvaro, let me apologize for not being able to help you with your questions, but it does seem reasonable to assume that metal tracks may over burden the gear box on your kit.
Second, let me say welcome to the forum!

I can’t say as to which are the best, I bought my set from eBay . Seller was holiday123 (now known as Winterholiday) I am very pleased with this set. I know that, Kenny Kong (?) makes a set and they are supposed to be really nice. You may have to check around on how to contact him.
I ran mine yesterday, to break in the gearboxes and they show no sign of strain. More than enough power to turn them. I would imagine that, it depends on how much you intend on running it and for how long in a time period.
I’m no help at all when it comes to this subject.
But welcome to FSM Alvaro. Good to have you join us here in the Armour Forum.
Thanks gents, great info!
