I just had three new HB books fall into my hands, the first being Osprey’s “Scale Warplanes Vol. I (Bf 109 & Supermarine Spitfire)”. The others are “Scale Armor, Vols. 1 and 2,” with the Sherman tank and three different German tanks featured. While I have no use for the armor books, they are beautiful to look at. However, my question concerns one of the Spitfire models being shown as it is built up. It’s a 1/48 Casadio kit of the PR XIX. Has anyone had any experience with these kits? How are they on detail? The book’s build adds quite a bit of Waldron and Airwaves AM stuff to it, so it’s hard to tell what’s kit and what’s AM stuff. I seem to remember a set of metal Spitfire kits coming out years ago at a price of about $140 – pretty steep for a 1/48 kit, especially in the late 1980s. I winder if this might be the very thing. So, wussup wit’ these Casdaio kits.
