Messerschmitt Bf109 GB Feeler--Official GB thread now up

Classic Airframes, found it at a LHS for next to nothing and now see it selling for serious $ on Ebay. I wished I’d have given it a little more attention than I did, may “fix” the wing root issues someday.

112 bucks worth if you buy it now??? Wow!

Hey Reasoned, good to hear from you!

Yes, I’ll have to read the book. Everyone is coercing me. Thanks for the confirm.

I think January is a good call as for some of us are tied up on several GB’s and at least for me, will give us time to finish the current GB’s were are involved in.

Thanks, Stang. I just hope I can keep my standards somewhere near all the talented folks coming into this GB! It’s gonna be a good one.
The aftermarket availability for the 109 is some of the best in our hobby. Eagle, Barracuda (has some nice resin now), Aires, Master detail, master models, Eduard (Brassin), etc. etc.

Peer pressure! [:D]

Here’s another to consider adding to the stack Greg: The Star of Africa, (Lews / Heaton) is a superb biography about Hans Joachim Marseille. He was quite unlike any other fighter pilot of his day.

Allen

I am sure there plenty of room for more than one of his birds. And if Lion does his, we can have a Marseille trio. I won’t be starting mine until later in the year, going to do the engine kit first.

Do you know which marking option you are going for. For me it was a toss up between the red rudder and his final F with the 151 kills, I finally opted for the latter one.

Doug, ye, that engine is 1/18th scale. Should be about 7inches long once completed.

Spartan, looking forward to seeing that build. That’s one of the other 32nd 109’s I have in the stash, but I will be doing the one on the box when I get to it, I see your cutting back on the AM though. [:D]

Mustang, nice choice. I got the book a few weeks ago, haven’t started reading it yet though.

Mike, great to see you here. Can’t wait to see what you do with a real aircraft [;)]

Nice to see some new faces amongst the usual suspects. This is going to be another great GB by Mustang here.

Ya you can sign me up for this one. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I ain’t cutting back on my AM goodies. The stuff in the picture is just the beginning! Just you wait and see!

Good man [:D]

Duly added to the list, thank you Allen.

It’s really nice to see you around again!

That’s the spirit! [t$t] Your Red 6 is gonna be a nice one!

Will do. You’ve got plenty of time to get reference materials, a kit (or two) and all the AM goodies you can stand to gather in preparation for this.

P.S. Looking forward to having you in there!

Wow, I just noticed this feeler thread the other day, and now its almost up to 10 pages! I think I have another spot on the shelf for a 109…[*-)]

I guess I’m in with this:

I won’t be doing the box scheme, but rather the Croatian Black 4, all weathered up as seen in this pic:

I have a set of Montex Masks as painted on markings will be easier to chip and weather. I also have some resin exhaust, prop, and wheels, and the a must for the Hasegawa 109s: an Aires cockpit.

Real aircraft?! Why, I oughta…!!! [:@] [:P]

Looking forward to it Bish. Besides, since my current build has 3 wings, I figured my next should have just one to keep the average up…2 builds, 4 wings, yeah, that works out about right. [;)]

Glad to see you are joiniing the ranks Nathan! I was beginning to worry…[*-)]

Yeah, I’m with ya on that. I’m blown away by how much AM is available for these birds! Just when I figured the Barracuda resin, the Aries 'pit, Barracuda decals and Master brass barrels would be enough, took another look at those Brassen struts and this time I went for 'em - they look amazing!

There is alot of stuff available for them. 1/24 scale has an array of AM stuff available also.
