Haven’t got very far but it’s a start.

I think the box art colour is too green, however; the build…

The belly armour was slightly warped and needed a lot of glue and clamps plus tape, but it is now on

The back of suspension arms have been ‘cored out’, unfortunately this will show when assembled, so I used some rod then filled with ‘crack filler’ ( DIY ) , then re-shaped. I have half of them done, It is taking quite a while

I have put this up on other post’s. looking for as much info’ as I can get,

Q1…was the “Driod” ever fitted to these particular vehicles?

Q2…I believe the ammo cases on the 12.7 co-axial was larger than standard, to carry more rounds! Any info on this. Was this also the case regards the 7.62 gun?

LOVE this “spaceship tank”–what a neat design!

Good save on those springs, too—what an annoyance that they did that to them! In this day and age…?

Likewise, I wish I could help out on the info, but I haven’t any good references on this latest model of the “Chariot”.

Hopefully someone will chime in soon. This place has always had a tendency to be slow on the weekends!

Not a lot of progress, the rear of the fenders had a small ‘warp’ which would not allow the baskets to be fitted. This took quite a few Hot water treatment’s to correct.

The baskets are just ‘tacked’ on, I will take them off to continue with the build. I know I will only knock them off.

The Tracks,I don’t like the tracks and I am tempted to buy some AM tracks, unfortunately they seem to cost more than the whole kit[:'(] Any help or info on this?

Nice to see this one making progress Kenny! Unfortunately you’ve discovered the hard truth about AM tracks. They aren’t cheap!

Whatsup with those tracks? Are they link-n-length? Are they resin? They LOOK like they require some dexterity and patience!

Luckily you’ve got those nice big sideskirts to hide any “length” issues that may come up.

Yes doog, they are but plastic. What I don’t like is where they join, its always a ‘sharp’ return and not a nice curve. it’s because the ‘length’ is on the centre of the wheel. Hope that makes sense!..cheers…Kenny

A little progress,

Some of the parts are lightly tacked on just to check

I still have to make up my mind as to which side armour I will use, any suggestions!

I have been making slow progress, too much to do in the garden.

I decided to use Fruil tracks

I now know they are on upside down, easy to correct.

I am posting on two other forums to get as much feed back as I can, and the Lads over on IDF are have been very helpfull.

I’ve made the bag from some clay I have, hoping it look about right

Had some help from IDF regards the wiring for the co-axial 0.5

DISASTER, I had taken the turret into the garage to spray some primer also to use some 'Nitric Acid to blacken the fruils.

When next doors cat came in jumped onto the bench, knocked over the Acid which flooded the turret

I don’t like that cat

So I decided to order a new kit so as to complete the model, also a new ball & chain set.

I will either convert the spare hull into an AVR, or use the ruined turret as a damaged tank!

The new kit has arrived that’s OK.

I had to wait a few weeks for the ball & chain which has now arrived.

Guess What, no chain…Then

Guess What the chain arrived, Wrong scale, can it get any worse???

So, here I am starting to build the new turret and still have to sort out the chain…cheers…Kenny .

Sorry to hear about these problems you’ve been having. Cats can really be a nuisance when they’re not catching mice. From the pictures I can tell that it’s a beautiful build and that you put a lot of time into it. I’m sure these setbacks won’t detract from the finished product. Push through and I’m sure you’ll do a great job!

It’s been awhile but I think it’s finished.

As you know I had to make a complete new turret, meant having to buy a new kit and some AM parts.

So here is progress…

The turret basket sits too low on this kit so some adjustments had to be made; it now looks like this

Now the build is complete, I have used ground-up pastel chalks for the dusting and brushed it on dry

The canvas bins and straps are scratch buit so is the rolled up ‘tarp’

Probably the most frusturating build I have ever done, even now the ‘Ball&Chain’ still giving problems. Every time I move the model they ‘Changle’ and Twist together, so now I’m losing paint untangling them…LoL

So your comments/remarks would be most appriciated.

Also, I now have a complete Hull and damaged turret;possabilty’s there or a recovery vehicle would be nice.

Does anyone know of a conversion kit? …cheers…Kenny[H]
