Mendeleyev tank (review)

Some of you will remember that a while ago we were joking around this early Tsarist Russia’s attempt at AFV design…

As it happens, KORA have just released a 1/72 kit of this tracked shoe box, and here’s a little review. It’s in French but the pics speak for themselves. The reviewer was impressed by the kit, not so much by the instruction sheet. The (resin) parts are well molded, without any air bubbles and with just the minimum amount of feeding blocks.

As you can see with the pic showing the box and Revell’s Leclerc, this was a HUGE contraption…! [:0]

KORA have also released the Tsar tank in 1/72.

This Tsar tank retails at 115 euros here (that’s over $100…!) [B)]

A brick and a giant bicycle…two nutty tanks!

Hysterical, J-Hulk ! [:D][:D]

You nailed it. That’s exactly what they look like !

did anyone notice that the front & rear wheels seem to be hexagonal?
did this allow them to drive the track w/o teeth?

very curious design.

ed.

That’s crazy. Quite interesting though. Yeah wildwilliam, I noticed that as well. Hehe, I thought it might have been a moulding mistake. The underside of the entire thing doesn’t look all that detailed.

Just out of curiosity, what is that bicycle looking thing you use as your signature image djmodels1999?

that bicycle thing is the Tsar Tank (see the thread about it!)

What were these people thinking! Can you imagine what they would have designed if the Christie design was accepted by the US?

Hexagonal wheels! What a ride! That thing would shake itself apart.

A kit of it, eh? Now, there’d be a tough one to scratch build…

I just keep seeing thousands of freaked out cow elephants running like crazy away from it.

“Oh no! One of the gargantuan children has mistakenly dropped his ice pop on the ground! Let us hope he does not throw a tantrum!”

You know what happened the shoe box designer,
he most likely found his way to a little gulag in siberia…

Did it work? looks like the German WW1 tank.

haha

It’s a Stealth Tank before its time. It can double as a Semi! [;)]

Those two are just strange.[:O]
