John,
Amazing work you are doing on your diorama, very cool looking hanger too.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Matrixone! I am now just about fininished sheathing the outer and inner hangar walls with tongue depressors.A very boring job that unfortunately it has to be done.I find that diorama making is 10% creativity and 90% labour and can at times be very repetittive but I guess that is what seperates the dioramist from the modeler.Lots of time and no instant gratification.Being able to hold the image that you want to create in your mind and then seeing it through to completion.Model on.Cheers! John.
Very impressive,I think when it finish,it will be just amazing.
Thanks for the pics,go on,final result always make the effort

The headless pilots reminds me of the joke sign I’ve seen that reads, “If you can keep your head while everyone else is losing theirs, you just don’t understand the situation.”[:)] Seriously, though, I can’t wait for Part 4. I’ve also been looking closely at your techniques for constructing the building–I’ve got plans in my head for a diorama, although building it is some years away, even though the plane I will be using is waiting in my bedroom closet–but my diorama will also include a building.
Hey Jim! I am glad to hear that you are thinking about doing a hangar scene. They really are a lot of fun and allow for much creativity. When you get started let me know if there is anything I could help you with as I cant include everything in my articles. It would take too much time and space even if I could think of it all.By the way ,that is the way we treat pilots here in Canada that flunk flight school! Cheers! John.
I have posted a few more pics of my Nieuport 28 diorama on the www.wwi-models.org website for those who maybe interested.Go to the News,News,News Section.Cheers! John.
