i had 4 medals under my name when i post. now i have none. where did they go? they are important to establish credibility with comments and hosting group builds.
wayne, I think there was a trimming of defunct threads, it happens now and again. I lost almost 1,000 posts. But you are down to only 15, that seems a bit wrong. I reckon I could go to a couple of GB’s your in and find more posts that that from you.
Yeah, something went sideways somewhere. I’m only registering 1 post. That presumably was a post from yesterday. The previous 5 years of activity isn’t being counted…

It seems odd that it happened on a Saturday. I wonder if there’s been a problem, I think we might have to wait until tomorrow for them to look into it.

gee i’m not sure that’s a good thing. 
17 posts? that’s funny i have started more than 17 threads; think i have built/finished more than 17 models this year and if what i think is coming in from a friend and get on a painting spree i will have a bunch more that finished (4 or 5 subs, LCVP, M-1117).
ARC? ps now i have local tv in the bunker which means more sunday build time.
I lost over 1200 posts. Maybe we should march on FSM’s offices!
Yes I know… you have been quite active here… thats why 17 is a major shock… all the hundreds upon hundreds of others of your posts went off to cyber never never land apparently…
Joe Rix just pointed something out on the 190GB. If you hit your post count and go to your history, it displays your actual count, with Wayne’s sitting at 1,461. So it does seem as if something odd is going on.
And he says he noticed it on Thurs, but I am sure mine was ok on Fri.
The plot thickens… Bitbite had a similar post a few days before as well…
Same story here. I “lost” almost half my posts…
I PM"d Tim Kidwell on this issue on Wednesday night when I first noticed this. I dropped about 700 posts myself and inquired about it. He said that a fix was on the way when he responded to me on Thursday morning. It wasn’t by Friday so I PM’d him back again. Haven’t heard back yet.
Thanks for letting us know Mustang. At least we know it is indeed an error of some sort.
I wondered what happened. I only lost about 30 posts, though.

Yeah, I also lost some ranking in here. Does this mean some posts are actually deleted? Like informative stuff in GB’s and technique forums?
i just checkd a 2012 GB and my IDF SHO’T KAL is there from 16jun2012 so i don’t think we lost any posts which, as you say, would be a loos of knowledge.
I have no idea how many posts I have. It was never really that important what the numbers were nor how many medals I had. Heck I didn’t even know how many medals I had either. Just build, post pictures, make comments, help others. Don’t worry about your “cred”. Quantity or responses does not equal quality. If the comment and commenter are good, they’ll both stand on their own merits.

This bug isn’t localized to just us; a couple of the other magazine forums are having the same glitch. Your posts aren’t being erased, there’s a coding discrepancy that double checks the post count and its causing some trouble right now. Bear with us and please be patient as we work through this.

Eric, I agree that the post count are not that important. Though as wayne points out, they do give some credibility and lets new members know which members have been around a while and so have a good understanding of the workings of the site.
But if this is something that not been done by FSM but rather by some outside source, then I think there’s a concern as to what other damage may be done. So if nothing else, it at least lets the powers that be now something is up.
