Hi all,
I’m putting together a diorama around an Me262, the idea I have is to have an American crew picking over it as though its been abandonned.
My questions is around the weathering of the plane, I want to make it look unwashed and dusty and was wondering whats the best process to go about this.
I do have a selection of a few MIG pigments I was thinking about using to just sprinkle on, would this work?

I’d try MiG Pigments. You can mix them in thinner (or water…I don’t know for sure) and brush them on. When it dries the pigment looks like dust and dirt.
The armor guys use this stuff all the time to make tanks look weathered.
I wouldn’t go too heavy on the weathering as the Me262’s were recovered quickly.
I’ve been gathering stuff for a diorama similar to your approach, but more as a “Watson’s Whizzers” recovery group. The US troops will be going over the base with a Horton Ho 229 (DML kit) partially dismemebered and a Me 262 (Tamiya) with the engines exposed. In another corner, a 88 AA gun and its prime mover abandoned. US vehicles would include 2 trucks, 2 armored cars, at least one jeep, a staff car and even a motorcycle (MP’s of course). There may even be a place for a civilian VW beetle left there as well.
