Me163 Komets!?

Hey all you Luftwaffe Buffs…I am building an Me 163S Komet Trainer. I know that it was a glider, but how did it get airborne??? That is…WHERE did the tow cable attach to the trainer a/c??? What type(s) of a/c TOWED this glider??

ALSO…I am building an Me 163 B-1a Komet, and had a few questions on it too!
The landing skid: was it retracted from takeoff, while in flight, then deployed prior to landing?? OR (as the instructions would indicate) was it extended while on the ground with the wheel unit attached, then retracted after takeoff when the wheel unit jettisoned, then re-extended prior to landing??? [whew…that was a mouthful…sorry.]

Any information or leads as to where I might locate this information would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thanks for your interest and HAPPY MODELING!!!

Thanks for the help!! Great source and resource!!!

Senojrn, in answer I always thought that the trainers was a fully powered version, so that new pilots would have a chance to come to terms with the manner in which the Walter engine performed and had to be managed.

As for the skid, the skid assembly acted as the suspension while on the ground, and was only retacted while in flight.

Hope this helps.

Oh my word! I know the guy who’s website that is! What a small planet this is…
