Me 262B-1a/U1 camo painted

As part of my three nightfighter project, this is Dragon’s 1/48Me 262B-1a/U1. I also got the Ta 154 (1/48 ProModeler kit) painted with RLM 76, but I didn’t have enough time to paint the spots. The squiggles on this bird took much longer than I anticipated ! I still haven’t gotten any camo on the Me 262 single seater (1/48 Trimaster kit) yet. At least I’ll have something to do tomorrow !

I tried to see how closely I could follow the pattern on the instructions. It’s off, but not by a lot.

The camo is Model Master enamels, sprayed freehand.

Thanks for letting me share the progress with you !

Looking great as always,[;)]

Makes me painfully aware I don’t have a single 262 jet built in my collection yet.
Thanks for posting.

Sweet. Did you cut those masks or are they commercial? I built the Heller 1/72 version about twenty-odd years ago! [8-]

Looks great Pix. The ‘worms’ look very nice, good freehand job. Thanks for sharing.[tup]

Is it just me or is everyone building Me’s? Great work!

Awesome!.. I want to see it finished

Ausgezeichnet… dank für das Darstellen!

Fade to Black…

[#ditto]What he said, only in english.

Outstanding work Pix-- love the night fighter camo!!

Thanks nicodemus, chukw, pingtang, Anthony, zeroenna, Steve O., jeff, and Jeeves !

nicodemus - the two that are part of this project are my 13th & 14th from the Trimaster/DML/Dragon kits. I still have five more waiting to be built ! The Me 262 is my favorite aircraft, and the Trimaster kit is my favorite to build.

chukw - the canopy is masked with Scotch Invisible (frosty) tape. The camo isn’t masked, it’s freehand.

Anthony - I don’t know who else is building 262s, but I’m currently building two (along with a Ta 154).

Steve O. - I had a little German when I was in high school (over 30 years ago !), but I have no idea what you said. All I can remember from that class was numbers ! (Geez . . . I’m gettin’ OLD !)

Jeeves - I chose this scheme because I don’t see it done too often. I also enjoy painting the more challenging schemes.

Thanks again !

Another example of your mastery, Bill… outstanding paint jobs!! [:)]

Thanks for sharing those great pictures!

Take care,
Frank

Thx for the pics as always pix.

Thanks Frank and 9x19mm !

The painting has to be one of my favorite parts of building. Glad you like it so far !

Looks great Pix!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with the other two night fighters.

Hey Pix,

I saw a paint scheme very similar to that one on a He-111 in one of my reference books the other day. I think that’s spurred me to build that next with a “naghtjaeger” (sp) paint job. BTW, is greenfield in central or eastern Mass? My wife’s best friend lives inFramingham (they both went to Tufts.)

Matthew

Great job!! Keep us posted!

Looks great as always Pix. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Like it alot Pix

Thad

Thanks razordws, mpartric, lerxst1031, Rick, and Thad !

mpartric - I live vin the hills of western Mass. It’s along the Connecticut River, about 10 miles south of Vermont. Framingham is southwest of Boston, quite a ways away.

Thanks again !

hey "mpartric "!
Which book did you see that he 111 in ??? i’m looking for an interesting scheme such as this for mine ! Peter . Nice one Pix !!!
