i just bought an old monogram 262. does anyone know of this kit? what version is it. also is it a reissue of an older kit.
If its a 1/32nd kit it could be RM4473 from the Smithsonian Museum that was produced in 1985. I bought mine while working for the Navy in Hawaii in 1986 and just completed it last month. Plan on doing a lot of filling and sanding as engine nacells are not the best match. One engine is included the other is just front and back faces. Makes sure you don’t loose the wing tip lights that are the clear spru. Cockpit has plenty room for imporvements. I had this kit plus 5 others from that time period and I’ve just finished a MiniCraft 109E. Good luck on the build, you’ll need 2 oz of withgt for the nose or else it will be a tail sitter.[2c]
it is the 48th scale
I believe that is the A1-A version. While it has the raised panel lines that Monogram is famous for. It is a fairly accurate 262 as far as wing and body shape. It does build into a nice kit and for the price is something that the modeler can play with as far as fantasy airfcraft (like a Hartmann Steed or Africa campaign) and not worry so much about the $$$. I have two of them and they look good right next to the Trimaster, Dragon and Italeri kits.
For some good references, check the “Me 262 Group Build.” I’ve included links there to some good walkaround & wartime shots. Good luck on the build. The Me 262 is one of my faves ! (some think its all I build, but that’s not true. [(-D] )
first good build i had was the monogram 262. didfal is right though make sure you put some weight in the front or a stand for the back if you plan to ground dispay it. otherwise it does the nosedive.

The Monogram kit ain’t all that bad. It has fit problems in the nose area, but that’s the only part I had any sorta trouble with. You can build an A-1a or an A-2a. If you build an A-2a, though, you may have to cover the top gun ports, depending on which specific aircraft you build.
Some of you may have seen this before, I think I posted it over on SHF. This is an old build, 'twas done before the Dragon kit came out (and before I could afford a Trimaster kit) and also before my weathering techniques came of age, but I still like it all the same. Have to make a few repairs to her, but this may give you a little inspiration for yours:
It’s finished in the markings of Heinz Arnold from JG 7. I had originally built it SOB, but then added a few things to it over the course of time. Even though it’s one of my fave builds, I really have never been happy with it and it’s been assigned to test duty.
