Here is my entry inthe “In My Stash” GB. It’s the Tamiya Me 262A-2a in 1/48. Finsihed w/MM enamels and the kit decals. They are a bit thick but I wet sanded them with a 3200 micro mesh pad and it really helped smooth them out.
As always comments and criticisms welcome. Thanks for looking.
WOW Marc, she really turned out great thats fer sure… Is she strickly OOB?? I really like how the panel lines turned out as well as the overall finish…
Now if only Tamiya would come out w/ the Me-262B 1a. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed taking a look see at your build.
Marc: Wow, indeed! The mottling and overall finish is simply outstanding, as is the attention to detail. The weathering gives it both a used and a realistic feel. Outstanding schwalbe!
Great job! Wow I too am building this kit for the Secret Santa GB. I may have to wait a while beforre I post my pics though. Yours is a hard act to follow[tup]
nice job wingnut like the others said camo looks great. I am building this kit as well. It fits so well I actually had to modify some of the doors and such to gain the look of a late war german aircraft, they fit too good.
that is a superb model. The build, details, paint and weathering work are most impressive. I would love to know how you get that faded look, its very realistic.[tup]
I cannot offer any criticism as I cannot see anything wrong with this one, you really are raising the bar for the rest of us.[;)]
Thank you all for the kind words. It is most appreciated.
el_jere… here is 1 build and 1 finsihed pic of the pit wires and PE belts only thing added. And I just noticed… forgot to put in the gunsight[:-^]
grendier II… I used dark invisble thread with little drops of thick CA glue
Darren… used something I picked here in the forum from others… after the base coat is down I filled in the insides of the panel in an irregular, streaky pattern with the color lighten with about 10% white. If it looked too light I went over again with straight color. Then wash and post shade as usual.
