ME-262-By TAMIYA--The clear one

Hello , fellows what build things wit wings . I don,t do to many cause they make me miss flying . Oh , well , anyway , what do you all think of the ME 262 as done this way ? Do any of you feel as I do ? If your,re gonna go to all the trouble to make clear parts , do the wings as well ! I am enjoying building this thing as it has been fun building a plane after so long , and one that seems to go together so well . Have you found this to be so ? I am not worrying about accuracy as I am just building for my collection . It won,t probably be contest grade , but , I will build it to the same standards as my ships . I just wanted to find out if I am wasting my time if I choose to enter it in a contest ? I don,t really worry about most things that many other modelers seem to worry about. Such as how the size measures out to the real thing , whether the colors are accurate and how it sits or looks on display . I worry about historical accuracy only as it relates to type not to one single aircraft . The only one I have that ever took a trophy was the F-4-U4 that"PAPPY" Boyington flew . It looked so worn out and badly cared for , I think they gave it a ribbon because they felt sorry for it ! Anyway May I have your opinions . I also have it (the ME 262 that is) in all solid color by both TAMIYA and LINDBERG . I just like the plane . I forgot to mention when I posted this ,that the forward compartment where the guns exit from the bulkhead and the landing gear mount is METAL ,yup the thing sits on it,s tricycle landing gear like it,s supposed to.Now if ALL mfgr,s did it this way we could do away with that clear post we put under the plane to prevent tail-sitting , KUDOS to TAMIYA !! Thank You for taking the time to read this. tankerbuilder

Hey Tankbuilder, welcome to the dark side. I like th 262’s also and I have built this kit. It would be nice to have a clear wing to do a totall cutaway look.

I enjoyed the build and hope you do also.

Steve

I like the way you surrounded the clear parts . Yes, it would be nice if the wings had been done in clear too . I could,ve detailed the heck out of them .

I like those clear kits, I built 2 from hasegawa. But instead of leaving it clear, I cut part of the fuselage out to make it a cutaway model. I also scratched built some ribbing details into wing so I could open that one up to.
