As I mentioned in an earlier post I’m building a Tamiya ME 109E3 in 1/48. I have a few aircraft out of the many JGs that flew these early in the war and in BoB but wanted to know if any of you have any other suggestions. I really want to build a yellow nose subject. Here are the three aircraft I have so far: (1) 109E-3, Oblt Bennemann, 1/JG 52 (2) “yellow 1″, Oblt. Josef Priller, 6./JG51, Mardyck, Belgium, October 1940 (3) 109E3 of III/JG 26 at Caffiers airfield Aug. I am purchasing Squadron’s ME 109E walk Around and In Action and I’m getting Bf 109 E Vol 2: Kagero Monograph 38. Is there other reference materials (books, magazine issues, etc.) out there that can give me more ideas, I’m looking more for color visual reference but whatever you guys suggest.
Knock yourself out…
there is an article, decals & some interesting schemes for Italian 109s in the latest model airplane internationa l magazine … decals are here… http://sites.google.com/site/rjcaviationart/dec
sorry I don’t recall offhand if any of them had yellow markings.

There are two Osprey Books that I used for Bar’s White 13. JG 51
and Bf 109D/E Aces
Both are good references and have plenty of yellow nose 109s.
I’m going to pick those up as well thank you, I have a number of Osprey books on other subjects but didn’t know they had a volume on the 109.
