What is the cheapest anyone has found the new 1/35 Dora railgun? I just cant see $700 for a box of plastic.
…it isn’t a box of plastic, it is a Dora Railgun !!!
Don’t expect any serious discouts. It’s a huge item. There’s only one on the market. It has limited demand.
Which sounds crazier to you: Paying $700 for the kit or possibly finding some detailed drawings and scratching one?
$700 for the kit alone but then there’s shipping. Go check out Squadron. I think theirs is $719 but their normal policy is free shipping on orders over $500. This one might be an exception however.
for that price perhaps it arrives on twenty-five railcars with a two thousand man assembly crew.[:-^]in 1/35th scale that is.but i agree that it seems a little outrageous.who’s going to spring for the addition to house it.
Hold your horses…isn’t it another $150 or so for that Oh so snazzy, gotta have metal barrel? God at that size, you might as well use a metal railing, unless that’s too small.
I expected as much but one can be hopeful. Just out of curiosity how did you guys who have purchased this monster get the $700 approved by the spouse? and where the heck are you gonna put it?
The only question here is, “Do you really want it?”. If so then get one and be happy with it.
and then someone will come out with some kind of aftermarket stuff for it at 250-300 bucks
do you think that anyone that will spend 700 bucks on the model will want to talk to us pee-ons and our 10-50 models[censored]
I have one, This is a once in a life time kit, I think that I will by one more as an investment.
Hahaha a photoetch fret would look like a fender for your car! And forget my little Ausfwerks fender bender! You’d need a pan brake and a rolling wheel! [(-D]
Well, there are threads all over forums of people who got one and are building it, so I’m not sure what you’re getting at. As mentioned, its the only one on the market, and I think it was a miracle that it was actually done in plastic, as opposed to resin. When you consider how much plastic is in there, and what a limited run it is, $700 is almost reasonable. So…what point are you exactly trying to make?
lots of ppl have bought one and they don’t regret it one bit. like sherman said it’s a ‘once in a lifetime’ kit… and very limited in numbers so why not? its like one of those luxury items you really want but you have to pay a luxury price for it, not get it on discount.
[:-^]and it’s a win win situatio in my opinion–If you do get around to building it; you have the “once in a lifetime” incredible piece of work. And if it stays in your stash and you never get around to it; instead of feeling like you wasted 700 on a piece of plastic you will never even use, the price will probably skyrocket in a little while once they are all sold, and you have your hands on a collectible, very rare item.
EDIT: Then again, I am a 15 year old kid who has never held more than a hundred dollars in my hand, so my advice on money may be a bit, well…useless. [:D]
Hey, im 38. I wanted it the moment i saw it. I had to save as im no moneybags. I agree with Ian, it will stay in my stash looking cool and making me money just standing there.
Man that piccy you have as your footer is the funniest thing ever. lol
…Guy
haha, I was looking at that too. I hope the photographer got the Iron Cross for that one !!
Thanks, Germans Breakdancing to MC hammer for the win!
…is that a contemporary pic, or reenactors???
In all honesty, I must admit that I have no idea. I just saw it one day while browsing on google images and had to have it. Just like my avatar/icon picture it just cracks me up.
