Massive 1/2 Tiger1, a cat on a hot tin roof.

Took my 1/6 Tiger to get some track and turret problems fixed today and thought you would like to see this monster out side MK1 tanks property, and i thought the crewmember looked the part. This is half full size and you can see how big it iss from the picture with my pickup truck in it.This tank was hand made by an elderly gentleman now in his eighties and is completly made from wood,Now thats what you call a master modeller when you concider this only took 6 months to make,i think it would take me that long to make one track . Just think about having to make two sets of track by hand[%-)]This gentleman also made the 1/6 Dora model that was the same size as his house when built , the photo,s were floating round on the internet a while back. PURE TALENT

Seeing that picture makes me think… Why settle for half scale? My dad tried to build a wooden tiger…never got out of the planning stages.

Now that’s what I call a labor of love! The cat seems right at home and I get he doesn’t have any problems with his neighbors either. [8-]

Needs a couple of pink flamingos. [tup]

I think my wife would be OK with a 1/2 scale Sherman in the back yard…maybe.

Thats amazing, are the tracks made from wood?..Kenny

yes.

That’s a fine model, but I’m not so sure it’s fine scale. It’s more like massive scale as your title says.

Incredible. All out of wood? Sheesh. And I can’t even finish one 1/35 kit in 6 months.

Going to need one hell of a shelf to fit that thing…

I’m sure with that in the yard, there are no problems with the neighbors [}:)]

Rounds Complete!!

My gosh! Don’t tell me that the cat is related to the beast… perhaps great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather. Jeez, I don’t know how long the cats normally live but I figure almost 70 years ago. By judging the color of the fur, they must be related!

Now it made me wonder… where are you keeping it? I have been to England few years ago visiting my distant family living in Cornwall part… their houses were so tiny with NO garages! GRIN

Is this the guy and his Dora?
