Masking Medium

In the last ten yeasr there was a reader tip that suggested using a woman’s face mask as a medium for masking. This liquid gel type substance I used for years until the large tube broke. I have been using the remainder in a jar for the last few years. Problem: I cannot rmember what the name of the woman’s mask was called. Since this stuff left no residue after it was dried and removed as a masking agent, and even had a great odor, I would like to buy the same thing again. Does anyone happen to know what I am talking about?

Do you remember the company name L.T.? My mother sells avon, so she might be able to tell me if you can get me some sort of name from the maker.

This is a heck of a good idea. I’ll be watching for the answer.

Excellent, I’ll look into it. Is it this stuff?

Has anyone tried the cellulose-based purple Maskol from Humbrol? It is a paint-on masking agent that works like a stretchy latex covering. My only trouble with it is that it cannot be used on Future (it eats through the coating) and that any heavy painting on it can end up chipping your work when the latex is removed.

YES!

Seems refreshing.
