I’m semi-new to modeling, but I’m sure I can achieve a tough task over time, and I’ve already created/scratchbuilt some pretty cool accessories to a 1:35 Humvee (roofrack, light bar, grilleguard, windshield-mount rear-view mirrors, extended snorkel and exhaust, etc.) and my Dad is a pro (mostly car) modeler. But all thats besides the point…
Anyway, I ordered a few Maschinen Krieger models by Wave for myself for Christmas, and I wanted to ask about scratchbuilding a Dollhouse. (Ma.K. fans know what this is- its NOT for little girls!) I can’t seem to find a decent (frequented) Ma.K. forum or website so I came here.
Has anyone built a Dollhouse? I’ve seen the kit online for about $150, and I heard of someone using a Tamiya tank as the base and building up the top with garage/scratch kits. Any ideas?
(I know Ma.K. kits are 1:20, but I wouldn’t mind makin a Dollhouse 1:35.)
I’m also looking for any good information/help on building Ma.K. models.
ANY help is appreciated!
Thanks guys,
Jonathan

There was a 1/35 Dollhouse released a few years ago by a small japanese maker, they did a lot of 1/35 stuff as it was designed for the SF3D Game. Maybe someone in japan could help you out tracking one down.
One think I forgot to mention about the Wave kits. While they are good kits they are not up to quality and standard of their other kits, mine had a few fit issues in some areas.
I was lucky enought to be able to see that Dollhouse being built. Amazing work. He’s much more active over on teh SSM foums but I think he visits here on teh odd occasion.
The Doll house is 1/35, it is based on the t-62 tamiya kit and alot of putty and resin, the person you might want to talk to is Bryan kreuger he scratchbuilt his own.
The new active forum is now at www.makzbv3000.com, come and visit and be a member we have a bunch of stuff going on! And I do mean a lot! We have a safs fat suit and a raptor split suit being made and a vaccuum formed hull for the Oskar that you will be able to open up and view the engine and a base for the oskar too!
We also have a sculptor working for us and I hear that Kow Yokoyama frequents the forum!
Got any more questions? post them and I`ll try to answer them!
I’ve never been a big fan of super-suit sci-fi, but the robots and funky vehicles in this are really cool. The suits are nifty, too, and definitely a bit more realistic than the robot gargantuans of other genre of sci-fi.
Could have a lot of fun with these things, looking into more and how to find kits in the USA.
Oh great, anoher forum to become a memeber. 3 years ago I had so much more time. No forum membership, just sat in a hole building models. Poorly. Now I’m involved in 5 forums and spend at leat an hour a day checking things. Then you tell me there’s a MaK forum. Crap. At least my old Slave One went to a good home.
Great huh! Yeah you need to join if you havnt done so already! This forum is much more active than the last, people are more involved with scratchbuilding and conversions and if you get in ghood with Jason Eaton, he has contacts in Japan, so he can get just about anything there, like wonderfest kits and stuff from Yahoo Japan!
Well I’ve got to thank you all for the links and help, I’m joining www.makzbv3000.com as we speak!
This should keep me busy for a while!
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!
