MArine Corps Armor

Does anyone know of a good reference book on MArine corps armor, besides Amtraks? I am having a very difficult time locating any reference specific to the Corps on this subject…Thanks…

Has to be one of the least published areas of W.W.II.

Here’s a site that might help a little bit … has some Sherman pics at least.

Hope this helps a bit.

Concord does a couple. I do not have the titles in front of me but one is Tanks of the Pacific Theater (or something like that). It covers all tanks used in theater (Army, Japanese, Marine, Aussie). I believe there is another one as well that is dedicated to USMC armor (includes AMTRACS).

Well I’m not sure about this but I’ve got two books here about them, the first one is the Marine Corps Reserve - a history dated 1916 to 1966 and the other History of U.S. Marine corps opeations in WW2 -Isolation of Rabaul. There are some B/W photos, a sherman in the jungle. And a Stuart also in the jungle in another photo. Both are in the second book.

Squadron has a book on armor in Vietnam (both army and marine). Marines were using M48’s, M50 Ontos and LVTP5 amtracks. G.L.

Thanks to all of you. I have reviewed some of the titles, still looking for more specific info, will keep up the search…Hoping to turn up a list of armor used, like did the MArines have any White Armored cars in WW2? I have a ton of USMC books but very few mention armor except for major battles…Anyway Thanks again and happy modelling…
