Well finally finished my marder ll. My God what a pain in the [censored] this was. But in the end I’m pretty satisfied with the end result. This is the DML marder ll, I added the cyber hobby PE update kit as well as some fruils and some brass ammo in the ammo racks. First time using blacken it on the tracks and was EXTREMELY pleased with the results. Also first time using a fine tipped brush for chips and scratches. My digital sux and these are the best pics I could take - unfortunately no close ups until I get a better camera. As always please criticize the hell out of it so that I can use it to make my next model even better.
Pretty nice, cammo looks good. Some closer shots would be helpful. What was in the Cyber Hobby PE? I got this puppy in the stash and can’t imagine adding much more.
I would love to post some close up shots but they’re all out of focus because of the poor camera. But I must say that the interior did come out pretty sharp. The cyber hobby PE added new side walls to the fighting compartment (already pre-bent and they’re actually VERY sturdy), some cables and wires, the shelves for the radio (which I tried and then determined that they were just too ridiculous and stopped) and a few other details and in my opinion better decals.
The model was just a pain because it was an open topped vehicle and things needed to be assembled/painted/glued/etc in a certain order that made you have to flip flop all over the place and there was alot of trial and error to get it to come together. Painting was a particular struggle to get everything to come together. But after tackling this challenge a tank or closed top tank destroyer will be a piece of cake
