hey everyone, ive onlyed modeled 3 vehicles since i began armor modeling. im so close to finishing a marder III from Tamiya with Verlinden Camo Netting and an Archer German Flag. i dont know how to put the photos on here so i put them on a website i have that also shows the other two works ive done.
Sorry i dont come on much, graduating in may and have a lot of work to do so from time to time i show my face. let me know what you guys think. - Chris
[tup][tup][tup] Top notch. Great build, I’v always like the look of the marder.
Hi Chris:
Thnx for posting your pics. The Tamiya kit is nice to build, isn’t it?
May I make few suggestions?

I don’t believe there should be any white edge on the air recognition flag. All flags of that sort are solid red with swastika inside the white disc.

Although I can appreciate the effect that you want with the camo netting (and it does add something to the overall look), from a practical standpoint, it’s not very realistic. Camo netting is used to mask the shape of an object. In the case of an AFV, they would need a fairly large one that could take on foliage. A few bits of ragged netting wouldn’t do anything for the crew other than to have it snag some vital equipment, catch fire, or worse, slow down a quick escape.
Very nice builds, all three of them Chris! The point made with regard to the netting is one I would agree with, but your overall projects are nicely done. Semper Fi, mike
yeah the tamiya kit was nice to buildi enjoyed it alot, kind of makes me want to do the Marder M that they have. As for the camo netting the eventual goal of this is put it in a diorama with leaves and branches coming out of the netting and have it in an ambush position in the brush, its why its really only on the front. i also like how it looks
thanks for the info though ill keep that in touch, for the next model cause i have so much of it im gonna roll it up and wrap it with some traps as stowage incase its needed by the crew to hide the vehicle.
Looks like a nice solid build. The wash really brings out the detail in all those bolts.
My only suggestion would be drybrush the tracks with steel and give them a red brown wash.
Yes, get the Marder III M, it’s a nice kit. [:)] On the flipside, I want the one you built and do it in Afrika Corps colors.
Great builds! I love the Sherman. Nice and cluttered.
Good progress on the Marder. The accenting in the creases around the bolt heads is done very well.
Great job. Look forward to seeing future builds.
that’s sweet very nice job. keep it up trackgrpbld05.jpg
