hi steve[:D]— your Marder is really impressive-- the camo job is first rate!!— i am particularly impressed with the 'overhead ’ shots showing the fighting compartment!! very nice-- I like the spent shells and the p.e. muffler guard looks perfect-- super job man[tup][tup][^]–treadwell[:P]
well steve you’ve given me good reason to post here of all places!! Your model looks awesome man! love how you brought out the bolt details! How was the kit?
Nice job on the camo pattern steve. Does the Tamiya ammo set not have enough rounds to fill the holders or did you choose to distribute to add more to the “in action” feel?
hi Bill,
The set comes with with six each HE and Armor Piercing (which are shortened and bevelled to fit in the racks), four empties and four complete rounds. So, you can’t get full stowage compliment with one set.

Steve
I’m a big fan of the Marder III M and I must say you’ve done a truely fine all-around job. The camo is top-notch and the interior work just sets it off.
Hi Steve,
Great work as always. Really love the camouflage. Always enjoy seeing your paint schemes. I’d go [tup][tup][tup][tup].

Joe [:D][:D]
Great job!
Hey Steve, your camo is really top notch! [^] I really like the weathering on your Marder, not extreme, but gives a feeling of being used for a little while. [tup]
Just out of curiosity, how long did it took you to complete the build?
Thanks all…Chipping was done with a .07 drafting pencil, drybrushed with MIG gun metal powder, then misted over with Tamiya Buff and then Dunkelgelb, finally coated with Polyscale flat. PE clamps etc. were scrounged from the spares box.
Jean…I would estimate about 20 hours over 7 days to complete.

Steve
Hay very nice Marder III Steve.
Crockett,
Thanks for that, will have to look into picking up a couple of those for use when I get around to mine in the stash.
Very nice Marder , good job. [:)]
Hey Man, that looks really cool. Excellent job all round.
Regards,
Terry.
Great build and paint Steve, especially the camo’ it looks fantastic!

Well James, it is Tamiya, although I am perlexed about a few things. First, Tamiya has taken care to include slots in the microscopic recessed screw heads in the gunshield, but, failed to provide separate grab handles for the engine compt. hatches and cammo loops ???
I replaced the engine hatch handles, which, in the kit, are just molded “blocks”, something that one would not expect from a Tamiya product. The drivers hatch as included can be split to display in the open position, but the details on the inside are unrealistic, hence my adventure with plasticard and a circle template.
Of course the rubber band track is really the weak point of the kit, as they provide no “slack” when assembled and are ‘soft’ on detail.
Hopefully Dragon will release a III M…?

Steve

That would be a nice addition…although I’d still likely build the Tamiya kit just because 1) I have it and 2) it wasn’t cheap when I bought it. [(-D]
It sure is amazing that Tamiya can’t seem to pull off the detail like the other companies… is this an older kit? I’m not too sure about the kit itself since I don’t have much of a stash LOL. Either way, you did it some great justice my friend![#toast]
