I agrre with the others and try something differant, model subject or a technique. When this happens to me I simply check out the model forums for inspiration.
Good luck Steve and snap out of it soon, we miss seeing your models around here.
WOW guys!!!..thanks for caring[:I], and the help…especially that SLAP on the face Marc!..that ring caught me right on the tooth!
OK…here’s my take on things, and let me add great minds must think alike because this is what I am doing so far to get de-FUNK-defied!
Read some reference mags: I picked up a book on US movers, which has my recently aquired High Speed Tractor (Winter Warriors GB). Cool stuff!..thanks for referring it to me redleg12!
Considering go OOB: I saw a nicely done M26 Pershing at SYRCON…OOB…kinda’ thought I should try that…and YEP, I scored the Tamiya offering recently! I’ve been told she’s a winner of a kit.
Set the German stuff aside and go US: See #2 above
Go OOB: See #2 above
Try a different/easier paint scheme. See #2, again, OD green would be a nice change of pace.
One last thing I thought was to write a bit and submit a manuscript to FSM. Nothing like a little cash (of course if Matt & Aaron approve) for next years vendor tables to get a guy motivated! I want to write the three-color camo oil paint weathering article from my 251 Stuka Zu Fuss. The photos came out good now I just need to add the text.
I like all the ideas you gave me, thanks again…I think the plan is: Commit a personal Cardinal sin and set the German Truck aside unfinished (90% done) and switch to the M26 Pershing and get my BUTT IN GEAR!!!..stay tuned…oh yeah, and go watch Band of Brothers again!
I think that everyone pretty much nailed the perscriptions. Matter of fact I have a few Eduard wings just for such occassions.
This is another great outlet to expand upon your building and creativity. Don’t hesitate to give me a jingle if you would like a little advice or feedback - sometimes the writers block can be just as frustrating.
Actually,I am going to go in a different direction.
Perhaps you should not think about modelling for a while…
Do other things that interest you. After a while you will come back. Right now you are full of plastic and solvents…you have to detox.
You will see that all of a sudden it will hit you after taking a complete break…that includes thinking about it.
The one good think about living in Canada,is in the summer when the weather is good (we do not get snow year round - U.S. freinds [:)]), we get out of the house, direct our energy to other things. But once the cold weather sets in,then back to modelling.
