Malta Pics needed

All,
I have had a strong respect for those who defended this island and the civilians who put up with the constant bombing. The infamous stories of Faith, Hope and Charity. Spitfires delivered from carriers in blue paint. Beaufighters and Wellingtons taking the fight back to the enemy. The AA crews and ground crews. Awesome.

Anyway, I am looking for pics of the aircraft and ground units of this island. I have found a bunch but there was a story in one of the mags that had a lot of pics of the planes on the ground getting maint, bombing up, etc. that I missed.
If anyone has pics they can post or send me, I would greatly appreciate it.
One in particular was a Wellington bombing up. The shot had one of the Malta Matilda’s pulling the bomb carts. This had diorama written all over it.
thanks,

Phil, find sampublications on the net, you need to order the April 2002 edition of Scale Aviation Modeller International. This issue had a couple of articles on Malta. One on camouflage & markings, the other has side views & scale plans of Gladiators, Hurricanes & Spitfires, plus some background info & photo’s. aeroplanemonthly may help too, they’ve done some features on Adrian Warburton, a PR flyer on the island.
Hope this helps, Pete

Thanks Pete,
I already have that issue. It does have some great stuff on the fighters.
The specific article that I am looking for was put out in the new quarterly mag
done by World Airpower Journal. Didn’t want to pay $20 for the one article but
wish I had as I have never seen those pics anywhere else.
Also saw a book called Hurricanes over Malta at the Library today. Looks like it
would be a good read with a few pics.
