Making the dihedral

I posted this also under aircraft but am hoping for other viewpoints.

I am modeling a 1:48 T28C, my second try at getting the wings into the proper conformation. I am using Faller’s cement and held the wings in place for a few minutes, then carefully balanced the model between 2 jars and weighted it with a bean bag and water jar. Balanced is the key word! [:P]

What techniques do other modelers use, especially with long wing spans? This is the first time I have encountered such a bend in a wing to fit, but suppose I am just a novice and haven’t built much yet. [:$]

I typically use a couple of blocks of wood of proper thickness. Fuselage sits on bench, tips of wings on blocks.

If the wings will not sit at that angle without weights I work on joint to fix it so that no weights are required. I worry about the weight bending something, so that when glue sets and weights are removed the thing will snap back to wrong angle. Usual problem is that top surface of wing is a bit too long and plastic has to be shaved from surface where it joins fuselage.
